Saints and iPRO team up to support Northampton’s Hope Centre

Northampton Saints and the Club’s Official Hydration Partner, iPRO, have this week joined forces to donate 1200 bottles of iPRO still spring water to the Hope Centre in Northampton.

The bottles would have been used by the men in Black, Green and Gold during the run in to the Gallagher Premiership season, but with matches currently postponed due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, Saints and iPRO decided the 600,000ml of water would be better used away from Franklin’s Gardens.

The Hope Centre has been supporting vulnerable people in Northampton for over 45 years, and has secured hotel accommodation and three meals a day for the Town’s homeless community since March 31, as well as supplying clothing, other activities and also a mental health helpline.

And while iPRO’s healthy hydration drinks are usually depended upon by club and international rugby sides across the UK and beyond, the supplier’s Commercial Manager Lucy Darrall is hoping they can make a difference off the pitch as well over the coming weeks.

“We’re thrilled to be able to donate iPRO to a local cause in order to help the Northampton community through a difficult period,” she said.

“The ongoing situation with Coronavirus presents significant challenges for some of the Town’s most vulnerable people. The Hope Centre tackles poverty in Northampton, and the work they are doing at the moment to offer accommodation and meal support to the homeless community there is astonishing.”

Northampton Saints Chief Executive, Mark Darbon, added: “We are living in unprecedented times; I’m very proud of this initiative with one of our valued partners because it’s vital that we all come together to beat COVID-19."

“It is the least we can do, and the Club continues to work hard behind the scenes to find new ways we can support those at risk within our community.”
